Education
Active Education and Training offer a reliable, professional and innovative PE specialist provision service to primary schools. By providing stimulating PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum, giving your Key Stage 1 and 2 pupil’s curriculum continuity and the individual support they need.
Daily supply can be an expensive drain on your budget, as well as unsettling for pupils if you have a steady stream of different supply teachers.
For the last 15 years we have offered a cost-effective supply service that includes:
- Fully qualified cover staff
- Staff continuity
- Subject flexibility
- Structured learning delivered by highly qualified staff
- Carefully planned lessons which meet National Curriculum targets
In addition to the PE lessons we are able to add on an after school sports club. We have a wealth of experience in delivering a vast array of sports to all ages.
Paid option: Some schools we work in charge the children a small fee to attend the sports clubs and then use this money to offset some of the cost of the PPA provision or to fund new equipment.
Free Option: Schools sometimes offer the clubs to the children for free. This option can be used to target specific groups of children (such as Gifted and Talented or Pupil Premium) or simply to increase participation in sport within the school.
Training option: Other schools use this service to run the school football/Netball/Hockey etc. teams. The sessions are run as training and then we utilise our local school contacts and organise inter school competitions.
Active Education and Training understands the need for INSET days. We also understand that parents can find child care an issue from time to time due to INSET days. We therefore offer a solution. We can come in and deliver a day of sport and activities that runs just like the normal school day causing minimal disruption to parents. We can tailor the day to your exact school timings and all we need is a classroom for registration and indoor activities, toilet facilities for the children, a hall space in case of bad weather and the use of the schools outside areas.
Alternatively…
We are able to tailor specific INSET day training to the staff to focus on the various elements of Physical Education and help aide their continuous professional development.
Active Education and Training successfully deliverer Lunch Time Play Leader training. This involves us working closely with a group of specifically selected children (usually from Upper Key Stage 2).
We teach those games that they can then teach and oversee the smooth running of two other children. This allows the younger children to have structured lunch and play times without needing the lunch time controllers to organise activities.
We provide the Play Leaders with a long list of games, rules and regulations as well as making them fully aware of all of the health and safety aspects. This gives the play leaders a wealth of experience and allows them to gain confidence as well as appreciating the role of the teacher.
